  • Trinity Bay , Rumor about stumps

I do not know much about trinity bay , I understand from reading around other places there are
new stumps out there that were not , I asked for the coordinates , I was curious if Westend folks
know anything , I did not see anything about a week back on a ride over my eagle point area to smith point area.
    Any reports ?

Maybe they meant to be careful of debris that comes down trinity river like stumps and logs that wind up in trinity bay. This is more true when there is heavy rainfall for that area. Just keep your eyes open and at a moderate speed when exploring. And always be extra careful when fishing around rigs for old submerged structures.

Things wash down after heavy weather. Just keep your eyes peeled.

I only go up there with someone that knows the area better than me and that doesn't take much as I really don't know it that well at all.

Floating logs yes. Stumps no. No real need to be in Trinity right now though. All the gain we had gotten close to is going to be washed away by last nights storm... give it a week to add to the current flows and it'll be back above 10k cfs again for a while. But if you are just running through it to get to east, then yes, look out for floating logs. Sometimes they'll hang up on underwater debris and stay there for some time before either sinking or finally working loose with tidal exchange.
