  • Got out today , covered lots of ground exploring smith point area.

It GOT UP EARLY and checked the seabrook flats , went 11 miles accross and checked out the smith point area,
I was somewhat shocked that the marked channel there probably is abandon. I gave up at marker #7 showing less than 2 feet and geo tubes showing like dead whales. I was looking for safe harbor in some event I have to dock.
I was also laying trails looking for places to fish. I came to the point from the north and was impressed with the
reef that was showing , tons of birds over there. Fish around a few places that had signs of life. Nothing all day,
Mostly riding around. Seemed to mark fish pretty good around the old gas well production places. Marked about 5 unmarked snags over there as gps waypoints named OBS. The water was down about 1-2 feet this morning.
It was a great day for exploring, pretty flat till 11 when the wind came in south west.
The bay shrimpers were fighting for position just north of the oil field and east of red-fish rocks . There may have been 10 or more over there working.
IT was a great day on the water ,

Good areas to fish when water comes back, Plano. I've learned many years ago that exploring areas when tides are way out can be strategic and produce when things get back to normal. Keep figuring it out.

Maybe you didn't catch fish but it was a successful trip for gathering information .
