  • How does one throw away a television these days?

My 1992 Magnavox finally gave out 3 weeks ago. So I put it out on the curb and said some words over it. I watched the Saints win the Super Bowl on that thing. Sad.

3 weeks later, it is still sitting on the curb. Apparently the trash guys will not pick it up. What to do? Don't say, "Find a dumpster". If there is some reason why it's not supposed to go in the trash, I want it to go where it's supposed to. I just don't know where that is. - Sandy

I'd drive it down the street a few blocks away at night, and throw it on somebody else's curb.

Then after it sits two weeks at my curb, I load it into my truck and dump it at JT's curb. Two weeks later it reappears at my curb-it's the TV from hell that we named HERPES. It just keeps coming back no matter what!

The remote was broken and he duct taped an old set of pliers to the tuner because the knob cracked and had fallen off.

Thanks Y'all! Looks like someone is going to use it to make a shortwave radio! This is the person I want near me when the EMP attack hits.

I wouldn't want to throw it in the water B. I'm sure there's things in a TV you wouldn't want to be around the fish and crabs you eat.

Don't want the fish hooked on reruns of Flipper or Gilligans Island.
