I have a starting battery and a house battery hooked up to a pergo switch. It has 1,2 and both opitions. My queston is if i move it to the both opition while underway will my etec charge both batteries? Or will it just pull from the stronger battery to the weaker battery till they have equal amount of charge. I just have my radio, amps ,and depth finder on the house and just the big motor on the starter. I would hate to pull much need amps off my starter to just give it to accessories. Any insight would help cause im by no means an electronic guy.

Thats what i figured but if you leave it on both and use the accessories will the batteries still remain isolated or does it work as a whole. I guess im asking now is there the possibility to drain your starting battery while using your accessories and the motor not running? Does your etec take xd50 or xd100? Mines on the 100 and i sure would like to go to the 50 for cost reason but ron hoover said if its programed for 100 you cant use 50. Have you heard of this. Sorry for all the questions.. Nick

Best thing to do when motor is shut down is switch the Perko to starter only since I'm not sure how your system is wired.
Mine is on 50 but I might have them re-program to 100 by summer. If yours is already on 100, you do have to run only 100 until you have them switch to 50. I get my oil in Bulk from Ron Hoover and the price is not bad.

You won't save any money changing it from 100 to 50. At 50:1, you're using twice as much oil as the 100:1, and I don't believe the price is twice as much. If you use 50:1 in a motor that is program for 100:1, you'll void your warranty and maybe burn up your motor. I don't know if the ETEC can properly charge both batteries at the same time. I may run on 1 and the next time on 2 and swap back and forth. If your house battery is a deep cycle battery, you may need to set up a charging system.

Run on one battery. Charge on BOTH. Do NOT switch perko when engine is running. If one is weak and other not, switching to BOTH will merely suck/drain good one to bad one. If one dies, isolate it-that's the reason for having it so if one goes bad, your back-up is still good."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
