Fishing this Week

I went out yesterday as planned. Fished around the Deer Islands, popped one good red on a plumtreuse assassin. Otherwise, nada. The water actually looked pretty good considering Monday's west wind. Tide levels were down but nothing out of the ordinary. It was dead calm at sunup which made for a nice boat ride. The wind never got above 5-10 all morning, generally NE. I went over to the ship channel about 10a and tried for a flattie but didn't get one. I had to get back home so I was off the water at noon.

I went to the Tech-LSU game last night. The first half was great. The second half, not so much.

Back at it tomorrow. I'll probably wade some shell again. Looks like the wind is starting to pick up.

No sheit on that game.....on the "stuff index", I lost the equivalent of a couple high end rods and reels.

Lol. Y'all didn't really think tech would beat LSU' really?

No I didn't. But I didn't think a team as poor as Texas would beat OU either and they may become National Champions. I just always try to go the opposite of the betting public..a/k/a the squares; and side with the sharps. It dammmm sure didn't work out last night.
And now I'm in catch up mode lol.

I went again today. Made some long drifts over mud and shell. I caught 3 specks and 1 red.

The water is good color. I had the water temp in the mid to low 50s. Wind was 15+ from the NE. I was drifting in open water so it was a little sporty. A good morning. I was back at the ramp at noon.

Nice catch partner and thanks for sharing the week. Tech game was horrible. If we could pair Kliff's offense with Spike's Defense, maybe we could be interesting. BTW, did not get out this week. Happy New Year!!!
