  • Found in Jamaica Beach

This Kayak launcher thingy washed up on my dock during that last tropical wave (Patricia?). I tied it up thinking someone would come looking for it...no takers so far.

If anyone in JB knows who this belongs to let me know. Or if you're looking for one of these it's yours. I'll be back down in a couple of weeks and will likely put it by the trash if no one wants it.

Had to look it up myself. I can't believe someone would pay $1k for that thing.

The Get Kayaktive patented Yak-A-Launcher - a portable kayak launch dock - makes entering and exiting your kayak safe and simple.

Never saw such thing before. However, I can see a use for it in my little pond. The shoreline is above the height of the pond. Means that I have to jump down into the water (sometimes inches deep, these days, a couple of feet deep)...and then jump my big butt up, and onto the yak.

Something like this device would probably help me board the yak without jumping in the soup all of the time. However, getting out would probably still require me to step off of the yak, and get me wet anyhow.

Do you mind if I post a LINK to this thread about the lost item on www.texaskayakfisherman.com ???? Somebody who lost it might see it there. They may not be on www.fishwestend.com

Don't mind at all, richg. Really would like to find the rightful owner. If not, I have a couple of PM's from folks who will take it off my hands.
