Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is fat and happy. Fishing has been hot this past week, even with the front that greeted us this morning, thought it was coming in this afternoon. Wednesday I took my co-workers 14 year son, Toby again. He's loves fishing and is learning fast. The wind was ESE at 10 and the tides are high. Fished some grass beds and later moved to mud/shell area. We had about 20 trout, 12 keepers with a few at 3lbs. and 6 reds with one being a keeper. He caught all the reds but one using a plum down south lure and I was mostly using soft dines XL, chicken on a chain and truese goose bass assassins. Thanksgiving morning I went solo and the fishing on the beds was just stupid. The fish were hitting as soon as the lure hit the water. Caught a lot of fish, but only kept four from there that went 17-20" and released the rest. Finished my limit over the mud/shell with the largest at 4 lbs. The truese goose seem to work best, maybe because it was a cloudy day. Today I took my friend Mike to a different location and was surprised by the wind that morning. Changed my plans a bit and headed out anyways. We ended up two short of a limit, but they were solid fish with a 4 and 5 pounder. Most of the better fish were up against the edge of a shell drop-off. Water temp Weds. started off at 64 and rose to 68. Today was just under 70 but should be back in the low 60's by the end of the day. Fishing is only going to get better for the next few months..........I believe a crab had been munching on Mikes trout.

.........We experienced the duck hunters this morning also, but they used their duck call to let us know they were there, so we just moved on down. Last week after some hunters finished with their hunt, they motored right thru the area we were fishing, so if they want us to respect them, I expect them to show us the same.Originally posted by kenny View PostGood catching Steve. It has been good fishing lately.

That makes sense. I don't mind moving if I know someone is hunting. I'd rather have a duck call warning than a shotgun blast.Originally posted by Steve_A View Post.........We experienced the duck hunters this morning also, but they used their duck call to let us know they were there, so we just moved on down.
