Windy Marshall super nice guy that will send you in the right direction. Guy knows those waters better than anyone. Just depends on what time of year you are fishing that area.

There is a reef there starts at the point and runs east west towards the rocks at redfish island. ( charts have this all wrong ) . You can find it two ways.
watch the ship wakes crash over it , or notice a standing wave when the current is hard. They way I found it was watching the shrimp boats, take one side of the other . I have seen those un-aware running full tilt and suddenly stop then limp home. If your at the south west end of the redfish rocks your
safe to go slow due south, you will see the depth go 3-4 then back down to 8-9 then your clear. ALWAYS tie float on anchor line, ship wakes are a huge factor there. You see it coming throw the line off and get ready by pointing bow into the swell . or run to deeper water. I have seen things that make me say Hawaii Five Ohh crap. Its not uncommon to throw line off a few times while your there, then you can come back to same spot.
I have fished both sides , there are obstructions out there, keep a keen eye out. I have them marked on my gps as I have found them. There is a area called Todds Dump, it has a few things for you. If you go due south from the ramp there is a large gate off to the west named moses lake. Nice beer joint over around the corner , top water . Get a chart, go slow in areas you have not been, really low tide makes it more difficult .
