  • Itch'in to be Fish'in......but ????

Just hauled my 1648 Lowe tinny back from TN last week. Got the tags and license plates all squared away, finally.

Should I be dragging her 140 miles round trip to fish west bay tomorrow....or just go hide out at Fayette lake for a week or so?

Hate to waste a trip and come up with a zero. Any help appreciated. thanks richg99

If Fayette lake is fresh water, I would stay there.

I'd hit the bay... this big dump of fresh and cooler temps should get the better fish working under the birds...just don't fish too high up toward the bayou... look at the first main bay shoreline structure down from the bayous... or go fish fayette.

Since I still have this Thursday through Sunday to fish where I want....I headed to Fayette today. Arrived late and wasn't on the water until 11:00 a.m.

Still, managed 7 LM bass in the boat, (missed another at the net) with the three largest measuring out at 14, 16, and 17 inches. I did weigh the 17 incher and she made it right at 3 1/4 lbs. That was in 2 1/2 hours with all fish caught on a rattletrap.

All in all, it's a good way to get back to fishing Texas with my little tinny.

Thanks for all of the advice and help. regards, richg99

Well, I prefer reds, but given the expected brown water in the bay....this worked out OK.

I am watching for any decent fishing reports for West Bay over the next few days. I have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to find me a red. richg99
