Took the hard hat tour yesterday on the battle ship Texas. Impressive, wife enjoyed it too. Few of the high lights for me was
were the radio room/command center and inside the large guns on the bow. We toured one of the magazines and there are still dimples in the floor where the projectiles were dropped while loading. The methods they used to move powder to protect themselves from disaster are interesting and very manual . The highest level we made was captains quarters. There is much more at a higher elevation but I suppose that is was not part of the tour. Some items you come away with is how they could move power around the ship and the redundancy built for example into steering. That ship was run from steam , and you can see one of the massive boilers.
Its worth it and she needs the help.
