Wow, I wonder if it was you and your same fishing buddy. It was early 1980's. What a catch he and this buddy brought in. Maybe you?. I always wanted to try that after that. Never did. It would be worth it tho. I was very young then. Before kids even. But these guys were so cool. No nothin' sinister or anything, they came in to a shallow shore line, sandy area, in the marsh area where we werent expected to be, just wanting to clear out the nets and sort out the catch. Me and a girlfriend was crabbing with just happened to be there to get crabs enough to have a dinner with friends. We had more than plenty after that.Originally posted by Flounderpounder420 View PostMy fishing buddy Happyshaker, when he lived in sea isle in the 80s. We used to do just that with a net his old man and uncle had. He did it when we had shrimp boils at the beach house. We would tie up the nets and went trawling in west bay until the back of the boat sagged a bit. Then we would pull them in.Last edited by small bites; October 14, 2015, 10:59 PM.

Don't think it was us sorry, we were about ten then when we would go out with his old man,his uncle and my dad. But from what I heard it was common practice then. We sometimes would get together with some neighbors to go out to trawl and have a block party boil with what we caught. The good old days."It was the Law of the Sea, they said. Civilization ends at the waterline. Beyond that, we all enter the food chain, and not always right at the top."
