  • MISSING - West Bay

My brother and a few buddies went flounder gigging last night and did not return in the morning. They left from Sea Isle and I do not know where they went to gig but it is normally within a few miles on the south shoreline. They were in a 14.5ft Dargel Skout. Right now there is a Coast Guard search for them. If you have ANY information please PM me and keep my brother and his friends in your prayers. Again they left from sea isle in West Galveston Bay and normally gig on the south shoreline.

They probably just had motor issues or ran aground. Keep us updated. I'll make a few calls and see if anyone is out in the area this morning.
    Shut up and FISH!!

Bet they have a heck of a story to tell. We had a dilly of a storm roll through here about 4:00 this morning. Glad to hear they are OK!

ended up hunkering down with no way to contact anyone, we are just glad that they are safe sounds like the storm was pretty nasty in that little boat.

I'm back in safe and headed home. The storm hit us and we were closer to Jamaica beach where my buddies house was so we hugged the shoreline when the wind picked up. I didn't want to run back to sea isle in my little boat in that weather. I sent a text to my grandpa and popped my phone on the charger last night and didn't think anything of it but the text didn't go through apparently and I woke up to a cop knocking on the door. It hasn't been a good morning

well the good news is your not gonna drown or get in trouble in a foot of water flounder gigging. Im sure there are other guys that will question were there any young girls in the bote or nearby on shore...but I never would.
