Was planning on another lonely fishing day with myself, but the wife asked if she could come. This is unusual, but I am not one to turn company down and promised she wouldn't complain, she even woke up before me! Started off fishing the west shoreline as the sun came up, bait was getting destroyed everywhere. I set my pole down for a second and before I knew it the thing was hauling *** overboard, the wife saved it and the fight was on. It was peeling line like crazy and I only saw it jump once, but it was unmistakable, baby poon! After the jump it came unglued, but not bad for the first couple casts of the day.
We started exploring other areas, I wanted to show her the cool little houses along the water, but overall a lack of action fell upon us. We finally settled in along a small gut and anchored up, my wife proceeds to school me on fishing! I hand her the first fish on out of decency, but after that it was all I could do to catch one for myself. She caught 3 to my 1, but I couldn't be happier. Size was nice, smallest was 17, biggest 22. All caught on popping corks / skrimps despite me trying my best with arty's. Best part is she said she had a great time and would go again, even said I need a bigger boat! Hopefully she doesn't find out that generally my fishing trips consist of not catching anything and me drinking beer way earlier than socially accepted. She didn't want to touch the fish, so I took all the glory pics with her fish.
