  • limited on hard heads and croaker

Wife and grown kids , had a banner day , limits on hard heads and croaker, everywhere we went on the bay.
It was interesting the big gaftop were not out . we fished everything from kemah to the dike and back. great day.
Had fun, with one shrimp and one cutbait trying to figure out what would get the bite .

Catching fish is fun, regardless. Thanks for keeping the hardhead population under control. Lol. I notice you like to fish the area you covered so I'm going to give you a spot to try and maybe you can catch a better quality. Get you some fresh dead shrimp and fish the oyster leases off the San Leon shoreline out toward the ship channel. The reefs are well marked with PVC pipe and the water depth averages about 12 feet. Drift the area and move around a little til you locate the fish. I've had some outstanding days catching big sand trout and specs on pearl shrimp tails and the fish are going to be there if conditions are decent. Take my advice and post up a report. Good luck and if you see my whaler give me some room.

Good to understand you and the family had a great time . Those croaker are mighty fine eating . I mean the small ones too ... The size of your hand or so . Head 'em , scale 'em , gut 'em ... Roll them in egg and Cornmeal , deep fry . Firm white meat slides off the bones and the tails are crisp and wonderful . Lather on some butter and lemon juice and you're fixed .

Harveys advice sounds good . I've never fished those reefs and I may have to give it a go myself .

Lol, had me in stitches. I have always loved croaker, just don't catch the big 2-3lbs ones like before. Or any for that matter. That's great info H. is laying down and should change what goes into the cooler.
