  • Pattern change

Well it finally seems like my summer areas had come to a close. Knowing i shouldn't stay in one area that long it finally nipped me in the butt. Sunday was a beautiful overcast day to fish but only dinks trout, slime balls, and those nice jig taking lady fish came to play. I wanted to hit greens but i havent heard of anyonr catching over there and its a long drive from the Houston ship channel to it. Next weekend ill be back to scouting. Hope yall guys had a better weekend than me. Somebody please so a picture of a big trout or some heavy fish fry stringers

I managed to grind out 8 keepers Sunday drifting around old broken down docks in about 3-4 ft of water mostly.
I have to agree the pattern does seem to be shifting

This place ive been fishing had some good fry fish up to 20 and every once in a while a sow. Man thanks for backing me up on the pattern change. Though i was just losing my touch. Im glad you found some that would keep. My tail stretcher was broken and its back order for another month.

I'm thinking pattern change as well... or the full moon. Had similar results this past weekend. Went to several places that have been productive all summer. Only managed 2 keeper trout to 18". Found a ton of bait popping under some birds out in the middle of the bay. Hooked up on a solid trout but it spit the hook right at the boat.

        That's fishing.

Ha, I hear ya. I haven't had one over 20" in about 2-3 weeks.

The birds have been good for me with 6lb gaff tops and 13in trout. Its a cat and mouse game. The days i dont catch bring me back for more. I would of said the full moon was messing with it but i have seen limits coming harder and harder in that area.big red flag to relocate but noooooo...it be good for another week.lol.

The birds seem to taper off too. I was always good for a mid day bird snack.i really hate transition. Had to keep a hold of them while im at work.

All this rain has knocked things out of whack too. Funny thing about those slimeballs, had one absolutely annihilate a spook the other day.
