  • Prayers and Donations Needed for Vjers Family

Not sure how many of you remember Vjer but he was part of the FWE family and a dear friend to a lot of us. After his death a few years ago his daughter Sarah was the only child left in close enough proximity to help take care of his wife Lynne. Tragically, Sarah was killed in a car accident this weekend and the family is scrambling to try and cover funeral costs and come to grips with how to cope and proceed. The family has set up a go-fund-me account to help Lynne with the funeral should anyone feel compelled to help out.

Thank you for posting this here Mike. I had so little time before classes this morning. I was there most of the night with Lynne and she is just crushed. Losing Vic was bad, but this is the second child she's lost. Heading back over there in a few.

I want to thank all of you who have given what you can. It looks like Alex's guess at $9000 for a goal was just about right on the nose. They're 1/3 of the way there. Everything needs to be paid for on Thursday, so Lynne took out loans on everything she owns. If anyone feels inclined, please donate. I've been asked by a couple 2coolers where they can send a check. Apparently I'm not the only one who doesn't do the computer donation thing. Lynne asked that I take delivery of any checks or cash donations. You can make checks out to Lynne Martinez. PM me for my address if you'd like to go this route. If you want your donation to be anonymous, you can make out the check to me and put a note with it mentioning anonymity. I know a lot of people prefer to give quietly. Otherwise I'll make sure they know who the donation came from. Thank y'all so much for the prayers and please do keep those coming. - Sandy
