Hit the surf at 6:00am yesterday. Water was calm and overcast , disappointing as only caught one trout on a plastic. Threw topwaters and plastics. Group down from me caught a few on tops. They were there morning before and said they limited out.
Left the beach around 9:00 and needed to run our family boat, headed West from the house just to run the boat. Came across a few slicks and stopped to fish them. Caught several sandies with Gaftop chasing the little sandies while I reeled in. Headed back to the house and cleaned the boat for 2 hours.
Hindsight, guess I should have hit the bay at daylight and keep on the pattern I have fished the last few weeks. Regardless always feel thankful to get out.
