Can someone explain why one weekend the surf water is a pretty green and the next weekend a nasty brown? The weather conditions were the same both weekends.

Interesting proposal , but , I would guess a hefty sustained west wind would be needed to push that silty water to Galveston . But , such a wind would dirty the beachfront without the help of Brazos River silt .Originally posted by SCHU View PostRumor has it that the west wind blows all the silt deposits from the brazos rver to the east our way. Whatever causes it, the west wind always causes the water to be dirty.GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.

After living on the island for over 15 years and fishing pretty regular, the prime months for wading the surf, May - September have been increasingly worse for catching those perfect conditions. If you can get three good days in a row, you better be out there. Then again, I've seen it go to chit overnight.
