    I got fish shanked today.

    Yep, I was shuffling out to fish a gut this morning as the tide was too low to fish the marsh where I was at and I encountered a bunch of potholes, on the outside of one of those holes was a stingray which decided to give me a gnarly calf peircing. I'm doing okay and back at home in bed now but I'm wondering how many of you guys have been hit and what was happening when you were hit?
    BTW I went to utmb and got taken care of. I found out hot water literally helps much more than three shots of morphine for ray attacks.

      Yeah, it went in from the bottom and came out about two inches up at an angle. I'm medicated pretty well right now so I'm comfortable.
      I hope you and Lynn had a great birthday weekend.

          Dang son ! Sorry to hear that . Hot water is good but morphine makes you mel...looow .

              Yeah doc but it turns out the venom from a stingray is neutralized my heat because it destroys the protein it's made of.
              I'm thinking even if I had guards on it would have got me.

                  Man that sucks ! I was hit in my right ankle in 2006 still have the scar , it must of been a big Ray to hit you that high ! Get better and keep it clean !

                            Yep thanks guys, I think I'll get two sets of ray guards and duct tape them around my calves for 360° coverage or see if iron man will let me borrow some boots!
