  • Lower galveston bay report

Fished lower galveston this morning. Caught a one man limit with the wife. Man the slack wind and current made it rough. Had to really look for the active slicks today. To top it of my tmotor died. Thing cant have more than 2hrs on it. Has anyone had any dealings with gulf coast troll motors in ftu? Might just have to make that one a month trip over the causeway.

I had them put mine on when I got it. Don't know about warranty, but they seem pretty reputable, otherwise they would not be in business around here for long. OBTW - congrats on the limit!

Great folks there! Stood by the warranty on my MotorGuide. Seal on the lower unit failed. Full of water.

I've purchased 2 there over the years and never had any issues. Installed them myself.
Just park up close to the front. They have a history of vehicles being broken into.

It must be a connection, is it wired directly to the battery or a plug & receptacle/bump switch. What brand trolling motor is it? Where'd you buy it?

Its a ipilot minn kotta piece of junk. Its about two months old and it will turn off when on high and just high speed. Thats not the biggest problem, sounds like the brushes are something in the lower unit is bad. Kind of a grinding sound and when I picked the unit up to see if it had something on the prop some blackish water was running out the prop sooooo Im guessing seals and whatever else. I so should of stuck with my hand control. I hate having to fumble around for the remote to shut it down when I have a fish on. Call me old school or maybe not that coordinated.

That's horrible, hopefully the warranty will cover it.
