File in small claims court-easy and inexpensive. Anything else will require an attorney and likely will cost more than ya may get. Most small claims courts (JP's offices/county courthouse) will help ya fill out paperwork and filing fee is like $50. If the owing person don't show, you get a default judgement and file it of record and it liens them-may be a while before ya get your $, but likely will someday. If they do show, have your stuff in order and be well prepared to state FACTS and have back-up. First thing I'd do is send a demand letter by certified mail, return receipt-evidences you made a proper demand. Then write down all facts. (leaving out emotional bull) and what they did or didn't do and what you did to try to get what you were owed. If you supplied materials or labor, you prolly could easily file a Mechanic or Materialsman lien on them in courthouse through county clerks office. Just do not do anything silly or illegal.
Debt collectors are a joke in Texas-homestead laws, etc make them just a nuisance only.
Sue 'em!!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
