  • in all my fishing years

... I've never fished matagorda bay. Talking with Superspook the other night I posed this notion and told him I'd like to hit it with Charlie Paradoski. He tells me Stan Sloan is a very good guide per Sneekypete so we're setting it up in the future to go. As for the many quality stringers I've seen and heard of coming out of there, I'm very much looking forward to his trip.

I used to fish down there a bunch in the mid 90s. What a wonderful place. Have fun!

I fished with Charlie a couple of years ago in less than decent conditions. We wore them out!

Yes Sir. Another fine student of Forrest West.

Fished Matagorda most of my life. We had a house on the river down there from the early 60's til 2002. Charlie is a great guide and so is Mark Talasek (his dad Marvin) was a legend there. Tommy Alexander is another good one. I miss fishing there.

I've fished with Stan Sloan several times. He is a class guy and knows the bay well. I would recommend him.

All the guides that have been mentioned are good. Last time I went there was Mothers Day, and I was the only boat in EMB, and I saw why, the bay was trashed. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

That sounds fun . I guess you mean East Matagorda Bay . I've fished it with friends . Back when my boat was fairly new , I had Capt. Steve Soule navigate me around the bay in my boat for GPS fishing spots and hazards . An adventure ! A new bay !

I enjoyed it when I went. Seems like the people have more fishing etiquette
