Set up 2 lawn chairs with a cooler of beer between them in the garage . Invite John and Harvey over for beer . By the time they empty the cooler , your garage and house will be completely dry from them chattering away . All that expelled hot air will dehumidify it all .

Sorry about the jack*** and the water, Coach! You could set up a big fan (old school metal fan works) and direct all that hot air towards the wet floor in the garage. It might not take out all the water, but it will dry it. Don't know about the house carpet short of replacing it...

No carpet, which is a blessing. Hardwood floors. I checked all along my perimeter walls and don't have any wetness. The only water that got in, came in well mannered, that is right through the front door. I guess I need more weatherstripping. No buckling of the floors, but my place is a biggerr mess than usual, which says a lot. I've got 2 mountains of crap piled on top of the couches. After I saw water coming in the garage, I began stacking everything up in the house. I'm leaving it that way until we're out of danger of a round 2. I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff over the last few years, but I'm still a recovering pack rat. It doesn't help that I have so much of Mom's stuff now too. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

What about the Sheetrock walls and insulation. Beware of mould growing where the wall got wet. You might want to cut out a piece and see if the insulation is wet. If it is, you might want to cut the sheetrock up about 6" to let the insulation dry out. Mold is serious stuff...check with your insurance also.
