I surfed once in my life, at Surfside Beach when I was 11 years old. It took me just a few times to figure it out. I was pretty athletic back then. LOL. It was amazingly fun. Somehow along the line I never did it again. Not very athletic anymore. Hang 10 Kenny!

Change your lifestyle Sandy. You can do it. At 50 I quit drinking, smoking, and biting my nails. It just takes personal discipline, and wanting to stop slowly killing yourself.

Looks good and wide and appears to be thick! Never seen one up close but that board should float a good sized man and still have great action!
Channel side of the dike and a heavy crude ship inbound would be a good trial run !

Not a surfer, but has anyone ever tried what they call " Tank Surfing"? Friend of mine who is 60 tanks surf the Galveston ship channel. Said he can ride a tank wave for 1/2 - 1 mile. Looks crazy on you tube. Congrats on the new board.

San Blas MX-longest wave on N. America coast-dang cheap too, but likely get killed nowadays.

I believe that's where Stoners Point is located. Beautiful water from what I understand.
I got married on Kauai Island and remember wanting to surf the north shore. I chickened out when I saw the waves and rocks.
Fear and pain have made me what I am today. I'll just watch and smoke.

Maybe called that now, but in mid-70s was just a spot on the map known mainly by surfers. $3.50/night at a decent hotel where ya could pick mangos and bananas in courtyard. $5 lobster, $5 turtle steaks, $0.50 beer (.5 liter of Corona), Percs were easy to get at Pharmacia and like all towns, a nice Casa de Chicas.
