  • Anegada Pics of the Day

I went out on the bonefish flats yesterday morning. It was a beautiful morning - bones everywhere - and I caught zero. The fish were running in schools of 20 to 100 fish, and I have yet to figure out how to get a school of cruising bones to even peek at a fly. Put it in front of the school, wait for them, twitch it - and nothing happens.

Anyway, it was a beautiful morning....

Great pics. I have a buddy who guides in Los Roques in the winter. His goto fly believe it or not is a size 4 gummy minnow. May be worth a shot. Here is a link to his photo site. Has a lot of pics of bonefish eating minnows. I would also recommend doing some low tide walk abouts, and use a dip net to seine in the sand to find out what the bastards are keying on.

Great pics Walker. I have not made it for bones yet but that is on the bucket list. I have fly fished in Montana the past 3 years and somehow have avoided adding $1G of equipment to my toys list. I may not be able to resist much longer.

Tidal Guide - your friend has some great pics. Los Roques is a neat place. It would be tremendous if it wasn't part of Venezuela. The pics of the trout obviously are from your friends summer place.
