  • Sunday, March 29 - West Bay

We started before daylight yesterday and headed to Snake Island Cove area... incoming tide, water was decent. Caught a 19" red and 3 undersized trout on plastics. Threw all kinds of colors at them.

Went to some reefs and the water was turned up pretty good. No takers. Wanted to finish the day by fishing some marsh drains up off the ICW but they were all occupied (or at least the ones I wanted to fish were).

Tides were really low and I learned a lot about where not to run. Doh!

Great day on the water regardless of the poor results.

Headed back down for Easter weekend and hope the weather/winds cooperate.

I have always caught fish on Good Friday and the Easter WE. I may tape the knee up and pill up and try this upcoming WE!!

Nice report Fly. I been getting undersized when not drum fishing. Water still is cool-when it hits 78, all will break open.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary.
