Lost a pig right at the boat this evening. Easily a personal best. I forgot my net at the dock and she got loose as I was trying to grab her in the water. I can still see her swimming away.

    Live and learn, I guess.

You aint the first one and you'll likely will see that happen again! Nice going anyway!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

At least you got to see it. Not knowing is even worse. I lost one last year that had my heart in my throat. All I got to see was a huge yellow mouth spitting my jig back at me from 20 feet away.
        Shut up and FISH!!

Sorry to hear that . I lost mine alone , half asleep dragging a broken back near shell shore around 3 am eaten up by mosquitos since sunset in a east bay back cove on a full moon 4 th of July . As it was peeling off line my line got overlapped on the spool and she broke off .

I've read it in print and heard testimonies like above that everything has to function perfectly to land a big trout ... Hooked well , drag set right , knots and line don't fail , and so on . Then you read about some 9 year old girl fishing for the first time with grandpa and lands a 10 pound trout ! Life's not fair . HAR !

Been there done that!!! My biggest ever would have come back in the early 90s will wade fishing behind San Luis. She hit a Mirror Lure and only had one hook in her and that wasn't very good when she came up next to me. I didn't have a net and made a grab for her and missed. She went nuts and took off between my legs, came off and I got a Mirror Lure in the Butt.....2xOuch!!!
