Sure hope they get it under control and cleaned up before it causes to much damage. I fish a couple spots in and around Tabbs bay. The weather sure isn't helping much.

It's a gasoline additive. A lot will dissipate into the atmosphere, but anything that does leaves residuals.

No wonder nobody eats fish caught from that area. A spill a week is a weekly occurrence.

I eat fish from up there.Im kinda still ok.Any spill is bad but better MTBE than black oil.I remember back when you loaded barges with the hatch open.In the summer loading MTBE the vapors would roll out the hatch down on to the deck. You could see the vapor cloud.Never though about it.What you did.

Lol, I seem to think the chemicals tend to give a good zest when eating. I've been fishing and harvesting fish from the area for a long time too. I just don't think the fish stay within the boundaries set for San Jacinto run off and migrate throughout the whole Galveston bay system. I just follow the guide lines set by TPW if I catch in the area.

MBTE is now exported because it was an octane booster for gasoline but the wonderful EPA outlawed it's use and "SHAZAM" replaced it with that fine crap called Ethanol that ruins your boat motors and small engines. Aint Gummint great! We go "green" per our Gummint but the rest of the world does whatever-and we take the brunt because a bunch of environuts. Thanks Gummint for both my gas tanks that went bad due to water corrosion- you farking bastages that were paid off by the Corn Lobbyists.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
