Hey Sandy, we served fried catfish and grits for breakfast at Church yesterday...along with the traditional stuff. The fish and grits were a huge hit !! Enjoy your time with your dad !!!
They were simply superb. If you ever find yourself in Metairie, head to the City Cafe and have the Shrimp and Grits with a biscuit. My buddy Ziggy ordered a pancake. I said, "one pancake?" He said, "Dude . . . . you'll see." Holy freakin' cow! It's as big as a manhole cover! I want to see the spatula they use to turn those things! Oddly there were very few people there and not a waft of sulfuric egg chicken period nastiness could be smelled.
Next is lunch with my best friend from grammar school, Aimee, then I pick up Dad's boat from the mechanic and head for the homestead.

Check out one of the 5 locations of BB's Café in Houston. They have shrimp and grits on their menu.

Had shrimp tacos for lunch with Aimee and ran into another girl I hadn't seen since 5th grade. She asked me how I didn't have any wrinkles yet. I told her that's one thing being fat is good for. It keeps everything taut. LOL. Picked up 5 lbs of crawfish and a quart of turtle soup in Harahan. Packing up now and headed to the coast. It'll be good to see Pappa again.
