    structure off SLP and west bay guides

    Howdy, I'm new to the area and just bought a place in TI last year. Last summer I took a few offshore guides out Freeport and Galveston yacht club where we fished structure. We had a blast catching reds/shark/snapper. Which leads me to this post...

    Two questions really...
    1. Anyone know of any structure out SLP within 10 miles and willing to share coords? I'd love to do a bit of offshore right out the pass.
    2. Planning to get a guide this spring for west bay (my back yard out TI)to learn the area. Any suggestions on local guides that know the areas well? Planning to use my boat to get the GPS tracks and points marked.

      If you want an awesome west bay guide go with capt . Greg Francis (aqua pimp here) of saltwater assault. He's one of the best on west bay.

        there looks to be few wrecks listed at one time you might check on.
        unknown if they are really there or not.. It has been my experience they are gone.

          Are you looking for a guide to take you off 10 or so miles and show the holes and structure? I got someone in mind who has memorized the bottom out there out of the pass but not sure if that's what your looking for...

            Within 10 miles of the pass-you won't find any rocks or structure. GA 272 area is the closest structure. Capt. Greg Francis for learning the bay. During late summer, you can catch kings, maybe a ling or two at water changes around 10 miles, depending on weather-a few times the bluie water has come within 8 miles of the beach. Tarpon in July and August around 40 feet, using shad or coon-pops.

              Assuming TI is for Treasure Island and not Tiki Island? Ditto on Robalo's comments. If you are really looking for structure in close (10 miles), best bet is to trailer or motor down to Surfside and run off from there. Middle bank, SE lump, etc. I'm sure neighbors down in 'TI' have some local knowledge to share as well.
