  • N. and S deer

Hey fellas good to see everyone has been catching good trout this winter. I finally have some time off work and looking to venture to some spots around N. and S. deer. I have never boated around this area of the bay and just want to make sure i have all the info before setting out. I plan to put in at Galveston bait and tackle. Is it a straight shot or do i need to watch out for anything between the bait shop and the islands? I have been looking on Google map for about a week now and cant make a decision. Any advice is always appreciated i wish i could make the meeting this Friday but its my wife's birthday.

It is not a straight shot. Easiest way if you're new to the area is to run up the intracoastal till you get past n deer and hang a left. There's dredge spoils all along the south side of the channel there so you gotta pick one of the marked (PVC) cuts through and if it were me I'd idle around the whole area. Reefs galore. There's also a marked channel on the north side of north deer that leads to the old intracoastal but you gotta be careful over there too.
    Shut up and FISH!!
