Left the dock at 11:30 this morning with little expectation, but I've got moss growing off me and the forecast was for light wind and an in-coming tide, so I thought I'd at least get the boat out and enjoy the day. I must have put 20 miles on the boat hunting for green water and water temps over 50 degrees and an incoming tide line. I fished the middle of the bay all the way in to the shorelines late this afternoon and didn't get a bite. For all you weekend warriors, you can expect the bay to be way too fresh for trout (at least it was today). Water temp never made it up to 50 and I guess the fish are a little stunned. I talked to some guide friends and they didn't do much better. The strange thing is that in all my running around I did not see ONE sign of aquatic life-not a mullet, glass minnow, shad, shrimp-nothing. I hope it get better for all of you fishing tomorrow but if the wind is out of the south, you're going to need all the luck you can get. For all of you going to the meeting tonight, have a beer for me 'cause I don't deserve one!

I went out this afternoon about 11a. I fished a couple of winter spots without a bite. I took the skiff into the Green's Lake marsh and saw a red here and there but nothing I could get a shot at. It was a beautiful afternoon. The bay was like glass."Shut up and jerk your croaker" - James Fox
