Shocking how the timing of everything lined up! Tragic to say the least. Certainly pray for peace for the families and healing for the wounded fella.

I am so sorry for the sudden loss of your father. Sadly, you did not have the benefit of holding his hand and telling him how much you love him at the end. But, I'm sure that was done over the Christmas holiday . This brings home the realization of how daily we all should express our love and appreciation towards our family and friends. Life is so fragile. You should be consoled , somewhat, in the fact that he passed away after doing something he loved. Thank you for posting and may God be very present with you and your family in this time of grief.

                    Another Big Thanks!!

I wanted to thank everyone again for all the kind posts regarding my Dad's death at the 2004 boatramp last week. His friend continues to improve but still needs our prayers. Another unfortunate event of that day is the spec Dad caught (the largest of his life) is still in the cooler, on the boat at the wrecker yard!!!ARGHHH!!! Anyway... take care and be considerate of each other when you're out on the water!!! Janette

Out hearts and prayers of WEA go out to you and your family in this still recent tragedy. Thank you for the update and we all are encoureaged by your father's friend slow , but steady recovery. Tell his family of our concern and prayers. I believe your father came back to the ramp that day beaming with excitement at having caught his personal best fish and that he was taken quickly in that moment of joy. It doesn't matter about the fish. It matters that your father went home joyfully.

Prayers up and lifted for your family Janette. Also for the gentleman recovering, here's hoping it's rapid and complete.

                                Found Fish

The injured boat was returned with the cooler on board. Surprisingly, after a week, the fish had not rotted and was measured and photographed. My Mom refrained from cleaning it, though, and buried it in Dad's garden near the mustard green patch!!!
