Tankermen always eat good!! I swapped white Mule Gloves and emptied all the Soda Water machines back in the day for a lunch or supper like that!!The skippers always wanted paint and WD40 and gaskets and bolts. The old ones went over the side and we always used new ones.
Porno books and magazines and transistor radios back then were a prize possession also. We always swapped reading material. We also brought towels, soap, and shaving stuff for them also. Safety Showers were great for them. But that was before females were integrated into the plants.
Gas oil barges always had lower outages in their rear port and starboard tanks and the cargo was usually swapped for fish and shrimp. The inspectors always ate good also.
Good people on the push boats. All good fishermen too!! My old Tankerman ticket had " issued for emergency use only" and the Coast Guard Commandant when I took my oath after testing told be to be prepared to bunker ships if they called me up. This was during the Vietnam War. I was one of 1st outa Galveston ticketed to handle LPG.
I gave up a good dock worker job and became a Electrician. Regret it all now. Should have stayed on the water front.

Very nice. The only 2 things missing are my spoon and honey for the corn bread. Great meal. Congrats. Lord Bless.

I would love that, but for some odd reason we are on the go, we got our old tow back so I will be visiting the sulphur dock more frequently, maybe tomorrow morning ill have some time to cross some eyes.
