  • Brokeback corkey saturday

Went out this morning on a real high tide and started working the guts off the bayous in west. Finally got an opportunity to use my paul brown classic broke backs and boy did they pay off. I had an explosive trout and red day. Got two trout at 23" and this 27".I released the 23&27 after photo But kept these beauties that averaged 18". The reds loved those brokebakes too. Got a 27" and a 21". I released the 27 in the photo. I released fish for the better part of the day. These are just what I kept. Great day. Big baits big fish.

I didn't either for quit some time Termo. But I did a little research on presentations and when/where they will be most effective. That seemed to be the key. I will admit, It was hard to be so slow and long pause the bait and a few times I j ad to reset and slow down. But when I did, wham it was on. Im doing a small series of videos on my go pro on broke back presentations and will post them when im done.

Cool because I was in west around Ndeer for a few hours Saturday with my broken back with nothing but algae to show for it.

Once you really learn how to use the Broken back, you learn its a very versatile bait. They can be worked super slow, they can be used quickly, can be used just like a top water, on the surface or just below. With very minor tweaks you can completely chance sink rates. It can be used shallow, deep and all year long. Only thing is to figure out what the fish want that day.
