Had some time before I have to go over to friends and family for Christmas dinner, so I headed out early, not expecting much with west wind last night and south wind expected early morning. Got out at 7:00 and it was dead calm, water had dirtied up a bit from last trip, water temp 49.9 degrees. Didn't get a bite at my usual haunts, so I moved to a shoreline around 8:00 and found some nice trout 1-21", 2-22" 1-23", a 20" redfish and a 16" flounder. Pardoned them all for a Christmas, but took one pic of one of the trout for my journal before releasing it. Wind picked up from the south at 9:00 and I knew it was over so I headed in. I would have traded it all to be around a house full of kids opening presents this morning. The definition of joy is the expression on a child's face on Christmas morning (but I was doing a little grinning myself)!
