  • They're getting BIGGER!

Lit out this morning by myself to wind around 8 knots-perfect for drifting. Got to the reefs around 7:15 and started catching as soon as I pulled in to the first location. Caught 9 by 9:30 and started throwing back the 15-18" trout hoping for a 20" or better to round out the limit. Had it on right before I was going to come in at 10 AM and got impatient and tried to haul it over the gunnel without the net, it hit the rub-rail and splashed back to freedom. I could swear it shot me the bird as it was swimming away. Oh well, next time.

Thanks everybody.....for perspective, that red was 23", so you can see the trout are nice sized as well (most of them). All were males-including the big one, which surprised me. I was feeling really guilty about keeping the large one till I opened it up on the cleaning table. Might be the biggest male trout I have ever caught. I think it was 39"! HAR!

Fantastic report. Excellent catch. WTG. How did the sharpen knives work. Did you use the straight edge or the serrated one. Lord Bless.
