So, Kermit is the exact opposite of me? Texting is stupid. You've all been duped into using an antiquated communication system (The telegraph) and paying money for it.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Nope, Email takes the place of letters. If you're working and can't talk, you should be working and can't talk; not pretending to work while your thumbs fly across a keypad. I see how the telegraph can be useful for emergencies, but people pretend to be too busy for human contact anymore. It's all very anti-social. Take a little time each week to actually call an old friend. I do it. When they text me back, I can't see the message, so they have to call me when they have time to talk. Time spent talking to people you care about is time well spent.
Free with your plan? That just means you ALREADY paid for it!

I agree on the calling an old friend part I also have forgiven a couple of good friends over things that went way sour who have really helped me throughout life! Life is short
Forums are for talking to a lot of people at once. Makes perfect sense. Technology has its place. Texting is not high tech. It's low tech, impersonal, and infuriatingly difficult to do without a keyboard I can type on.
Curmudgeon, the only time I've ever paid for texting is when people used to text me, I had to pay a quarter for each one. So I finally got them to turn it off. Now I don't pay anything for them because I can't get them. Happy. $35 a month for all the long distance I can use. That's all I pay. I think that's a good deal. I'm on long distance probably 4 hours a week minimum.
