  • I have a case of the Grinch this year

Just venting, This year had been a bad one for me. At work the workforce was cut literally in half. Some of my friends are now unemployed. All my family is going to their in laws for Christmas.

My cousin is comming from out of town and is celebrating Christmas at her sisters house and invited us but The Wife, does not want to go. Same BS each year. I work All this week except for Friday. I am just going to stay at home and sleep Christmas in. All the bills are paid for the month and am floating until next Thursdays payday.

I bought my 2 years her gifts, the wife hers. I asked her if she was getting me anything, she replied, Nothing, we bought a 47" tv last months and thats enough for the year. i beleive it when she said nothing, thats what I got for my birthday on Halloween. Same excuse was made.

    Ba Humbugg!
    Sorry for the rant

Some years are harder than others. Don't forget the good things you already have..and it sounds hokey, but some of them are not worth overlooking sometimes.

I have the Ba Humbug feeling this year also. It has been a tough year. Everyone has something else to do or somewhere else to go. Plus I have to work overtime on Christmas, for the first time in 8 years. So I know how you feel!!!

Don't get me wrong, I count my blessings everyday. I have a good job, a wonderful family and good health, and I am very thankful for that. It has just been a tough year and I am having trouble getting in the Christmas spirit.

whenever you start feeling sorry for yourself, take a trip down to M.D. Anderson. It will put your whole life back into perspective. I too count my blessings every day. I have a lot to be thankful for and I try not to take any day for granted.

life is too short. One day at a time.

              Merry Christmas to all.

I am not feeling sorry for myself! I just can't get into a festive mood. I spent the better part of a year and a half at M.D. Anderson with my mother, when she was going through treatment for Leukemia. So I know how lucky I am.

                  sorry jam,
didn't mean to come off like that.
you know better than me that if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.

i hope your mother is doing well. i just had a good friend go thru the same thing, bone marrow transplant and all. i know it was tough on him and he is 48.

it always does me good to roll around on the floor and act goofier than normal with a bunch of rug rats. it will put a smile on your face fo sho!

Merry Christmas to you, your mother, and your whole family from the tiki kid.

Once upon a time; one of robalo's former wives called a truce on the Christmas gifts and advised she wasnt getting him anything. So he took the money he had socked away for her gift and went and bought his girlfriends nicer gifts than originally planned.

He wasnt about to let her attitude ruin his Christmas and all of the other girlfriends were happier and got more than they expected.

JT is right on with his post. She's in Fl. with her snowbird (i call em Q Tips-they all be white on top!!) parents after she spent $1500 on HER kids, so who's $ did she spend-oh, mine of farging course. I paid her daughter's wedding (2nd time-and I did her last divorce for gratis) a few months ago; for xmas, got her son new tires at $300+, got his GF another $200-300 and her daughter about $600 in gifts a week ago when I went hunting, she went to Austin and she spent over $800 on the son's GF and her daughter. I caught unmitigated sheet this am when I asked why I had two new CC charges for $650 total from the "Monogram Shop" (hi $ chit)-stuff for her kids and for one of my S-I-L and niece since my brother and his wife lost a daughter a month ago, so she got the niece and S-I-L nice blankies (they farging should be at $150 each)-my family does the white elaphant dealie, so we spend about $50 on gifts and that's pretty much it. Oh, and I bought her a $1100 dinner ring. Let's see, what I got.............. Oh Boy!!!! a remote control helicopter (got 1 last year or year before and broke it in first hour-POS), a tackle bag-oh, gee, how neat, but I bought me a new one after Ike last year, so dint need one and asked her if she still has receipt so I can return it and I believe that be itHey pasadenaman-join the unappreciated bullchit club-me and JT have been members for many many years and will be. I think I be POTUCOA (President of the Unapprecaiated Club of America-a/k/a-the doghouse and "where da beotches live").

"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary.
