  • Coastline Marine Big Trout Tournament

This post will grow, hopefully later today, or tomorrow. I was late to the weigh in so I don't have the complete results, long story... Mike Cubbage and I did fairly well, 3rd overall, and second big fish. I will post up as soon as I have complete results. Winning string was huge!!! Beat us out by 3 pounds. I'm trying to speak to Brent Juarez, the organizer to see if he can email the results and pics to post.

Okay, still trying to get all the information. The funny story was that I missed the entire weigh in, left my fishing rods at the ramp and had to track them down. Mike told me over the phone that we were 3rd. I think that our stringer was14.8? and my big fish was, 25 1/2 and weighed right about 7 pounds. Winning string was 18 something, but they killed one fish so with the half pound penalty, high 17's. I think that mike said we missed second place by ounces.

Mike just called with some close weights for the tournament. Big fish was 29 inches and weighed 7.45 ish, Mine was 6.75.Our total stringer was 14.85, and second was about 15.2 or 3. If anyone has Brent's numbers, PM me and I will get hte pics posted.

Thanks Michelle, but I have to get to know you better before I give up this spot. I will say that the fish were all in waist to chest deep water in two little depressions on a reef hump. Sorry, but I was sworn to secrecy about this spot years ago.

Quite a few tournaments through the years have been won out of that spot........

That was my thought as well. I guess that it is the year of the 3rd place for us... I was happy with the fish I caught, but would have been happier with the ones that I couldn't land in there. One that I couldn't stop, and two others that were at the surface trying to stab me with a Corky..

A Brazillian wax job and Corkies....you might just need my number.

Let's just say that there are a ton of good spots in that area of the bay. this one stays with me for now, but there are a few 9 pound spots that I have to call community anymore. It's all in the timing and tachniques these days.
