Got a later start this morning...went with my wife Lara and friend Mark...went out the north shoreline and drifted...didn't pick up a thing OR see any bait so we moved around to a couple of spots...Mark was throwing a corkie and I was throwing 4" new penny gulp on a half oz jig head. Headed to a spot that has been productive in the past. Lot of shell, close to deep water, and protected from the north wind. Saw something chasing bait (finally) and continued to work this small oyster bed. Got hit quick and then the fish let go. Stayed in the same spot and maybe ten to twelve casts later had a undersized red hammer me. He made a good run and made it fun. Several casts later in the same spot caught a 16" speck. Stayed there another twenty minutes and nothing.

Moved in to Chocolate to try a coupld of areas. Water was extremely off color and we moved out of there after about an hour. Again no bait seen.

Headed into Harborwalk around two for sammies and a quick break. We were bought a pint of shrimp and headed back into a favorite couple of drum holes in Greens. Sure enough they were there. Caught a lot of throwbacks and a few in the 15" range. Lara caught a 16" speck and I managed one more maybe 17" and another throwback red. Mark (king of the trash fish) caught two large sheep head and two throw back flounder. Good job Mark. Grab a hardhead tomorrow and you can have the Sloan Slam...hardhead, sheephead, and a drum. Go gettem boy!

Fun day...will post the photos once back in Houston as I brought the camera but forgot the cord to hook it up to the computer...

Headed in after that...be back out tomorrow and will post what happens...

I wonder if he ever had what I call a trashcan slam. Hardhead, stingray, and eel. It's happened to me twice. Sounds like y'all still had a good time. It should be ON this weekend, just give that water time to settle the silt.
