I've two shark stories, from my diving days:

One is from Isle Mujeres. The nurse sharks used to wedge themselves under the coral heads and "sleep". We'd dive and pet them (they wouldn't get startled). Last I heard, the sharks don't do this anymore there.

The other is when Mrs. Oleander and I, and about a dozen other diving friends, rented an island resort (on Glover's Reef) off the Belize coast. The resort had a lagoon that we puttered across each day on our way to the dive locations. The lagoon held a reef shark that would accompany us on the way out and in each day. On the way in, we'd commonly jump into the lagoon (off the boat) and swim with the shark to the kitchen hut (up on poles at the edge of the lagoon). The shark would be fed, after each resort meal, with the scraps from the kitchen and was "tame". Also under the kitchen hut is the only place I've ever seen seahorses while snorkeling.

But, I do use a stringer that can be bit or cut through, as well as never knotting the stringer to me. I also strap a diver's knife to me while wading, to cut line as needed.

My fishing buddy, "Will", was wading a reef with me and my brother and a 6'+ hammerhead started circling my cork. We were in waist/belly deep water, so I reeled in and me and my brother were almost fighting about which one of us would be in the ankle deep water versus knee deep water on the shallowest part of the reef. Will was almost chest deep and was about 10 yards from my cork when we saw the shark. Me and my brother hollered to Will that a big hammerhead was real close to him and he said "I don't hear any music (Jaws theme) so I must be ok."

Will says and swears that unless ya hear the Jaws theme, sharks are not to be worried about. He's still alive and still wades, sharks or no sharks.

Moral of the Story: If ya hear the 'Jaws' theme, you are about to die. If not, keep fishing.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

            Aye, that's tribal knowledge.

            LOL!
