A little lesson there . Big bait for big trout is the mantra . Yeah , it is true but it doesn't mean a big trout won't eat a shrimp or tout . Dang son , 33 inches ? What weight ?Originally posted by westbaytroutassasin View PostCoach im a big believer in the tandem as a matter of fact that 33 was on a tandem midnight sparkle rigged weed less with a 1/16oz slide weight. she nailed it thought it was a red an d almost crapped myself when I saw it was a trout. Im changing a couple of things, went to FTU yesterday and picked up some Norton twist jig heads 1/16 and some new ultra clear 20# flouro for my shock. I've been chasing red tails so much I forgot how to snatch a good trout.GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.

9-6 It was definitely a summer fish I have a different phone from backthen I downloaded it and printed it up hung in the man cave. It regurgitated a 5" mullet in the O2 well before it freaking died on me. I tried to release on rhe spot but it wouldn't revive. My wife may have a pic on saved on the computer. But what your saying about big baits is no don't trust. I got my broke backs to late last year but cant wait to tie one on

I wont pretend to know any secrets on what's going on with the trout right now but when you're fishing clearer water and worried about spooking fish , if your not fishing top water then maybe give fluorocarbon a try.
I love it as a leader on braid. You can get away with using 20 lb test and it's still almost invisible, has some stretch too plus I personally think I can get better feel and control over my jigs/Cormier with it.
