Derek , why do you use a cork ? The cork noise that helpful ? It helps to prevent bottom hang ups ? I read about football jigs for flounder fishing . Appears they help keep the hook upright . I wouldn't be able to cast a cork as accurately as a jig head .

I'm really not a cork fisherman per say but there are times where you will catch them with this rig and not with the same bait without a cork. Why that is I can't tell you but it happens. It might be that the cork lets the bait hover above the flounders head longer and when they are lazy they don't want to chase.

It seems or in all reality to be a different ball game where we are living for the time being and fishing right now, very different. Chokoloskee FL. The flounder move is a bit later, the bait is similar, using the the same game plan is similar but it doesnt work the same as west bay, finding those inlets drainage places are not so much here. I am learning the new playground. I so miss what I know in west bay. A LOT. And you all.

                  mullet

OMG, the locals will buy your mullet here, to fry bake whatever. We those that use them as bait dont advertise them.. They stink and no I wont eat them, that is BAIT.
