The wife and I are going to Rockport for our 34th Anniversary. I know I'm suppose to put on the Cary Grant show and wine and dine, but a guy's gotta fish. Know of any good spots that are easily accessible by Yak or wading in the Rockport/Fulton area?

There are some launch spots not far from Estes flats that can be decent. There is a launch/bait camp at the Palm Harbor RV Park. Paddle across the ICW (quickly) and voila. I've fished those marshes and the farther back you can get the better - there is typically alot of boat pressure on Estes so be safe. Redfish and flounder have been solid for me in the past. I typically do better on lighter colored lures and Buggs crab and shrimp imitations.Last edited by Jerkyourcroaker; August 19, 2014, 12:10 PM."Shut up and jerk your croaker" - James Fox

Thanks guys. I had heard that Goose Island State Park is good for specs. I had considered Oak Point but wasn't sure. I hadn't considered Estes flats, but it's do-able in a yak and I would like to get into some reds, just for fun, I rarely eat fish. I'm hoping to notch a tarpon, jack crevalle, red, spec and flounder on my fly rod, but I think that's a pipe dream for an extended Texas slam. I appreciate the pointers
