it's a great time to pic up the BigTrout DVD as well.. Some of the big fish stay in what we think are 'winter' locations... they stay there all year. It's not just a winter game anymore once you know how to find those areas.

This came through a PM on another board. Somebody said they were new to Texas and Jarret aka Jampen told them to get a map and the TroutSupport DVD's. I thanked him for the kind note and this was his reply.

You've done a great service for the guys that don't have a lifetime to work on it or an unlimited budget for guides. I have no hesitation to recommend a superior product when it is appropriate." Jampen

This came in this morning, posted on another board. His wife purchased the 2 trout vids for him.

"Tobin, May is my wife and we learned huge amounts from our two new arrivals over the last few days. We are at a huge learning curve and still prepping and dialing in our 21' Hydra Sport. Going from shore and kayak fishermen to Boat and wade fishermen. I cannot agree more with the comments here. Have had the shallow redfish video like she said, still watching and learning, but the addition of the two trout videos.... Wow, just wow. We have gone guided several times and will continue to do so, but this video series is helping immensely. The tips and tricks and the amount of data given costs less than a day's guided and is so comprehensive, I just can't say enough. I really want to thank you for the ability to sit and learn at home, as much or even more information from any one guide offers in a simple and easy dvd. I am a slow study, especially when it comes to fishing, so I will be watching them over and over. I am sure we will be picking up that Redfish Bay and Shorelines DVD very soon as well, not gonna just stop at 3 out of 4 dvd's. Thanks again for bringing the knowledge to those of us who don't necessarily get to fish often enough to learn this the hard way." Daftanddirty

Got this in just the other day...it was submitted to the site.

"After about 3 months now of buying a kayak for the first time I have been bitten by the thrill of saltwater fishing. I had never done much saltwater fishing except from the bank with dead or live shrimp without much to show for it. I grew up bass fishing and after joining TKF I see that you can fish for reds and trout with artificial lures much the same way as you do bass. So I bought a few lures and head out to the bay and try it in my new kayak. So.. paddling around the bay I'm casting everywhere I can with no luck. Did the same thing the next few fishing trips without any luck... So, decided I needed a little more help to find these red fish and trout I see being caught. I heard about these DVDs from troutsupport.comand bought the whole set.
After watching them I have been on the water 2 times, and what a difference they have made in my fishing strategies! I now have a purpose and a plan for when I am paddling an area to find fish. What a difference it is to actually have a purpose instead of just drifting around blind casting. .... So I see bait being chased along the edge of the grass, I make my way over and start casting. I see a few big wakes running around some grass patches a little further at the point. Throw my little weedless spoon in the area and wammo, red fish on! Not a giant one, but a 21" just the right size for dinner! First red on an artificial! I know this is a little lengthy but I am excited to get out again. Thank you for the fantastic information and knowledge provided in those DVD's! " -Tommy

Awesome stuff J. You'll love the redfish DVD's, there is even more info in them than the trout DVD's. The Shallow Water reds DVD has saved or made my trips every time. Really consistent techniques and it can be applied to trout as well on the lower coast or on days when there is no tide but some wind.

....Tobin, the Reds fell victim to that cheap lure I told you about this morning. Even though the "Fish Liar" tides and Solunar site showed today to be the worst all week come Sun up using the methods worked.
Grandpa methods that is! BUT, they are included in the "Shallow Water Reds" DVD for sure.

....Did you get that HDS9 problem solved?

Yeah... finally got it up and running... User error.. LOL. selected the wrong ducer for the default. Good to go.

There's years and years worth of info in those redfish dvds. They even help with trout fishing. Good stuff.

....Tobin, I might suggest you carry a few extra mem cards with you as well. When you come up on some nice hidden structure you can record what you are looking at and then use the app on your home computer to review what you found for future reference.

Signs are in the air that things will be turing to a winter pattern soon. Right now it's still a fall pattern though and there is a lot of bait left in the bay (shrimp and shad). Looks like both the flounder and trout bite is improving though. have fun guys.
