Just talked to Sal Bautista after being asked by several people. The tournament is on!!!!!!!!!!! Cold weather never stopped us before. I'm sure that if there is ice on the ground we should all proceed with caution, but big trout will be caught!! I think that I fished this thing in 2002 with pneumonia, on a day that started in the 30's. Brutal but we were on the fish.

Great Turnout at the captains meeting tonight, 29 total teams equaling about 60 total participants. I'm sure that the weater discouraged a few but the tournament should be great. Those who didn't enter should stop by the weigh in to see how much fun it is. I've learned a ton over the years from fishing tournaments, much of that comes from the conversations at the weihg ins. Besides, there should be a handful of huge fish to admire there. Good luck to all who entered!!http://www.theshallowist.com

This tournament is going to be just like it's name, it's going to be a grind out there. As someone asked in another post, "Does the snow effect the fish?". As The Swallowist said; not really, just will push the fish deep over mud and shell, but it will have more of an effect to the fisherman. Your hands will become so cold that you won't even feel a fish when you grab it, or you can't twist a jighead on a bass assasin. We're going to be casting over and over again, hoping for 3-4 bites all day, but those bites may be well worth it. Good luck to everyone fishing it and be carefull in the the morning, those overpasses and bridges may be icy. See ya at the weigh-in.

Hope ya all (that is the FWE members in it) do great and win win win!!"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Good Luck to you too Steve and Fuzzy! Drive careful and stay warm. Looks like the moisture is out and the skies are clear. That makes a world of difference as soon as the sun comes up, warms the skin!!! We haven't really lost that much water, so unless the wind really starts humming we should have plenty of water all over the bay system. Starting to sound like a banner big trout day to me.

Drive careful can do.Stay warm may be a problem.Going to be standing in the exact same place as in my avitar in the morning.Bought a skeleton rod the day before I caught that fish.So I went and bought another skeleton today so I can catch another one like that.
