  • What a difference a day makes.

Unlike yesterday where a mentally-challenged monkey (I should know) could limit out where I was in the surf, today was a struggle. The water this morning had stained to the normal sandy red snot that it usually is, but I couldn't tell since I waded in before daylight. No birds working, no seagulls and few fish. Had to bring the pogo stick and bounce up and down from the waves (5 MPH my arse) all morning, and when I saw the water after daylight, I knew the lucky monkey was dead. Did manage to scratch out 6 small trout (16-18") but had to wade a mile up and down the beach to find them.. if it wasn't for a fleeing mullet here and there to give away their location, I would probably got skunked (again). Can't complain too much, met some really nice guys by our cars and we plan to meet up again when conditions improve. Looks like a wind shift to the south for the next few days and I have no luck EVER in a due south wind, so it looks like I'll be stuck in the trees for a while.

Nice report Termo. 6 trout in stained water aint bad-beats a shut out!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Way to grind it out and catch some fish! Might as well do all you can since you're already there. Thanks for the report. How did the others do?

I was the only one who caught anything (except one guy who chased down a cork floating by and it had a trout on it---bigger than any of mine.....but they were fishing in one spot with live bait and popping corks. My theory is that if you ain't catching anything...might as well get some exercise!

I got all excited about Jhua's post and took off this morning, drove down and saw the waves before sunrise. A guy on the Beach & myself both said at the same time, your title "What a difference a day makes" I saved a vacation day and came in to work.

                          I should have gone today.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

We'll , John , I don't know why you're belly aching . Sure you had to push water for a mile but perseverence and a keen eye netted you 6 keeper trout . Not big ones , but 6 keepers . I good day in tough water . The guy next to you probably thought you a champ . Nice going ! What did you catch them on ?
