  • Vid of a Tacoma group I went with to SPI.

First I want to say I did do some fishing, you bet.
I started of with fresh dead in the surf targeting Whiting and Croaker for shark bait and had no aspirations for game fish but while standing on the first bar I noticed a few flashes of fast movers in that beautiful water so I shuffled out and tied on a gold spoon and had 3 nice slams, the 3rd hit was the biggest and cut my braid like a razor.
These fish seemed too big for spanish macks but I tied on a short steel leader and started throwing soft plastics and mirro's with no more hits so I don't know and do not think they where large lady's...I think they where big Spanish Mackerels. The spoon I lost was the only one I had and it seems it's all they wanted.

    Here is the video...Prosit.

I do like the fly the quad copter but think of it as a tool for video more than a toy.

Someone else I talked to said they thought the fish where either big Macks or juvenile Kings.
Never under estimate gold and silver spoons in the surf.
