Since I woke up at 4:30, I thought I'd run down and try the jetty this morning. Threw a spoon for an hour and caught 2 tiny dinks. I guess Moonpie caught all the keepers.

Fishing last night was real real slow until after 2am. Then the trout showed up. Put seven keepers in the box in 40 minutes.
Shut off the light at 3am.

Sounds about right. Seems like when I use the lights for the surf they usually start biting around 2am

That's why I prefer fishing at night during summer.
It is so much more pleasant and mucho less Doophi around.

Nice! Perfect eaters. Shoulda come down and potlicked you. I fished the surf from 4am to sunrise and got skunked!
